STORYBOARDING PRACTICE

 NEW SKILL ALERT: STORYBOARDING

THE CLIP

THE STORYBOARD

WHAT DID I LEARN?

Well, all I have to say is this was a LOT. Storyboarding is not for the faint of heart. Though, it is necessary to have all these cuts and different shots and movement to make a clip as interesting as possible. We don't see things stagnantly in real life, and the same should be shown in films.

The hardest part is really remembering to describe everything. For the first two, I had to add in the shot type because I totally forgot to mention it in the notes. Also, keeping up with the detail and quality of drawing. You can definitely see where I started getting annoyed with all the details and trying to make it look good and really just focused on getting the point across. It was also hard deciding what parts of the clip to include for shots that were kind of continuous for a bit but with different setups. There were some parts omitted that I just described in writing rather than drawing an entire other storyboard box for.

I'm really proud of myself for what I did on my storyboard. Although it's a lot of work, it's very rewarding because you can see a movie come together before your eyes, or as I did, deconstruct. Soon we'll be making our own storyboard for our movie opening, which I think should be fun... or interesting. Until then!
