PEER REVIEW
Looking into the lives of other bloggers
LUCIA GARCIA
First is Lucia's blog, which can be found at luciagarcia18.blogspot.com. My two favorite shots were the master and extreme close up.
The master shot follows a girl walking around the school campus speaking to people as she goes. This gives the audience a more personal look into her life as they see it in a way similarly to physically being directly behind her. It also helps the audience get to know the setting, seeing it the same way as the characters do and realizing relationships inside of it. In the extreme close up, we see only her eyes, frantically looking around. This leads the audience to pay close attention to the extreme detail and feel the fear within her.
On my own most recent blog post, I did not include a master shot, which is one of the reasons I was really impressed with Lucia's. As I mentioned in my comment, we had just learned what it was that same day, so I didn't really opt for shooting one of those. I also did not film an extreme close up, however the effect of that shot is similar to my high angle shot where we focus on Sarah being scared. I think our blogs are of similar quality and that we are understanding concepts to similar extents. I appreciate the friendliness of her blog, it is less formal than the structure of mine.
NYLA JULMISSE
Next up is Nyla's blog, linked at adventuresofateenfilmmaker.blogspot.com. I really loved her extreme close up of the flowers.
The camera moves very slowly through the flowers in the garden area at our school. This lets the audience really focus on their intricate, natural beauty. It may also be leading to an important setting.
I said before that I didn't film an extreme close up, so the flower shot is nice to look at as it differs from my own. I also believe that me and Nyla are on similar levels on our blogs, we both explained our shots quite concisely and described them well.
